      Locker is definitely a true locker both tires turn hard steering is a little different definitely stiffer will have to adjust your power steering but would definitely recommend this locker

      • I have a outlander 1000 and would like to consider a locker for my front diff but I am in Canada would it be possible to get it done and what is the turn around on it?

        You are certainly welcome to purchase our parts, even in Canada! We ship worldwide. To install the locker it takes 2-5 business days and to pin the diff to spider takes 2-10 business days plus shipping, to and from us. The only downside is going through customs, we have no real estimated time for shipping if it ends up getting stuck in customs.

        Yes! This locker will work with all can am diffirentials.

      • How hard is this to install?

        The diffirential has to be removed, cases split, the carrier that houses the visco lok has to be split by lathe if your front diffirential is 2013 and older because it is welded we offer you the option to send it in for additonal $99 we cut the carrier open install locker and weld back true. 2014 and newer is servicable so it all is bolted togeather no need to send in. The locker replaces the visco lok clutch pack very simple install.

      • How is the turning radius?

        The turning radius will suffer some with a locked diff.

      • So is it pretty much like welding the spider gears making it hard to steer? What is the turn around time sending different to get it installed?

        Yes sir correct, That is personal prefrence some say they do not mind it or notice it with power steering others say its a bit difficult. Turning radius will suffer with any locked diff, we are at a 2 day turn around for the lokcer installed.

        This fits all Can-Ams including the Defender and X3.

      • In 2wd will the wheel speed be the same on both wheels while turning?

        Yes sir the front tires will be locked to turn the same speed.

      • Does this mean it will always be in 4x4...are does it just lock both front tires when put in 4x4?

        4x4 is actuated in the transmission. This locks the front wheels together with hard parts. The unit will still operate selectable 2 or 4wd.

      • do i need to add a pin diff to spyder if i have a 2016 maverick xmr

        We always recommend pinning the diff to the spider.

      • So will the older one work on an 05 John Deere buck since it's made by BRP.

      • Does this work on a 2018 Can-Am Defender?

        Yes, but only without the Can Am Smart-Lok™ Front Differential. Defenders with the Can Am Smart-Lok™ Front Differential it will NOT work on.

      • So am I reading this correct if you ad pin diff to spider my diff has to be sent in

        Correct, you would have to send it in to us.

      • How hard is the steering?

        We would not recommend this product without power steering. However, we have had customers without power steering provide feedback and it doesn't seem to be an issue. If you have power steering this should make it slightly harder, it's really up to the customer preference.

      • if I install this will front diff still be able to select 2wd/4wd with the switch on my 2015 Outlander? I like to be able to run in RWD only if desired.

        Yes, 4x4 is actuated in the transmission. This locks the front wheels together with hard parts. The unit will still operate selectable 2 or 4wd.

      • With the visco gear pinned, what does this do to turning radius? how would turning be effected on hard packed or even blacktop roads? would the chance of breaking axles or possible worse go up by driving a pinned front diff with the locker on blacktop roads?

        Hey, This very dependent on unit setup as far as turning radius, load on axles etc. This will decrease turning radius as well as put more load on axels being lock at the same rate.

        Hey, Thansk for the inquiry. The visco lok system is no comparsion to a locker. The wheels are locked togeather to turn the same speed all the time.

      • Does this piece tip load the axles in the same fashion as the torque locker?

        This product along with the option to pin the diffirential allows each axle to be powered. by the carrier and not the tip of the other axel. This is explained in the product details. Only kit on the maret that elminates the issue of axel tips breaking off in the diffirential.

      • I have a torq locker in my 17 maverick but need to pin the Visco gear so more of the axle spline will be used and not break the tip off after the c-clip. In theory would this be what I need to do that? This replaces the clutches so the Visco gear would be locked and the torque locker would allow free spin unless 4wd is selected is my thought.

        Hey Robert, We have never used the two kits that way. That combination would still tip load both axels, the only way to eliminate the load of the driver axel off the passneger axel tip is pining the ger seat. You would have to purchase this kit wiht the pin option as well as send the differential in sir.

        Yes correct 2014+, yes you will. eed to replace the seals while you are there.

        Hey Ben, No sir you do not have too. We do recommend it, that way each axel is only loaded on its stub shaft in the diff, with out pinning the diff the right side axel can shear off in the diff. 

      • What's the total cost and time for installing this in a 2015 can am turbo 1000 maverick ?

        Hey Todd, bringing the bike to the shop diff out install and back in would be roughly 5 hours @ $105 an Hour.  Diffirential sent in only 1 hour @ $105. I would recomend new seals and fluids as well. 

      • So if I don’t send it in to get it pinned off the carrier with just the locker will it twist the axle tips off easy? And if it’s not pinned does it still go through the right axle first?

        This is all correct.

      • I got a 2017 570 xmr will this lock in the two front wheels at all times no 3 wheeler drive?

        This locks the front wheels together with hard parts. The unit will still operate selectable 2 or 4wd.
